This policy explains the warranty coverage provided with products purchased from MaxandsohWatches.com. We believe in standing behind every product we sell, and this warranty is designed to give you confidence and peace of mind with your purchase.
1. Manufacturer’s Warranty
As an independent retailer, MaxandsohWatches.com is not an authorised dealer for any watch brand. This means:
1.1 New Watches With Active Manufacturer Warranty
Some watches may still be covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty at the time of sale. Where this applies, we will include the original warranty card and clearly state the warranty status and remaining coverage period in the product listing.
Important: Some manufacturers may not honour warranties for purchases made through independent dealers — this varies by brand and is outside our control. We recommend checking directly with the manufacturer’s service centre in your country if you require clarification on their warranty policy for independently purchased watches.
1.2 Pre-Owned Watches
Manufacturer warranties on pre-owned watches have typically expired. These watches are sold without manufacturer warranty unless explicitly stated otherwise in the product listing.
2. MaxandsohWatches.com Warranty
In addition to any applicable manufacturer warranty, we offer our own warranty on products purchased from our website.
2.1 Luxury & Branded Watches — 12-Month Warranty
All luxury and branded watches sold by MaxandsohWatches.com are covered by a 12-month MaxandsohWatches.com warranty from the date of delivery.
What is covered:
- Defects in the mechanical movement or quartz module that were not disclosed at the time of sale
- Failure of the watch to keep time within the manufacturer’s stated tolerance (where applicable and where the watch has been used and stored in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations)
- Manufacturing defects in the case, crown, crystal, or bracelet/strap clasp that become apparent during normal use
- Water ingress on watches described as water-resistant, provided the watch has been used within its stated water resistance rating and the crown and pushers were properly secured
What is NOT covered:
- Normal wear and tear, including scratches, scuffs, fading, and patina on the case, crystal, bracelet, or strap
- Damage caused by impact, dropping, misuse, neglect, or exposure to conditions beyond the watch’s stated specifications (for example, water damage on a non-water-resistant watch, or damage caused by exposure to extreme temperatures, magnetic fields, or chemicals)
- Damage caused by unauthorised servicing, modification, repair, or tampering by any third party
- Battery replacement on quartz watches (batteries are consumable items)
- Straps, bracelets, buckles, and deployant clasps (unless a manufacturing defect is identified within the warranty period)
- Cosmetic issues that were disclosed and accurately described in the original product listing at the time of purchase
- Loss, theft, or damage during shipping after delivery has been completed
2.2 Fashion Watches & Accessories — 6-Month Warranty
Fashion watches and accessories sourced through our international suppliers and fulfilled via CJdropshipping are covered by a 6-month MaxandsohWatches.com warranty from the date of delivery. This warranty covers manufacturing defects only, including:
- Failure of the movement or module
- Defective clasps, crowns, or crystals
- Strap or bracelet failure due to a manufacturing defect
This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, battery replacement, cosmetic damage, water damage (unless the product is explicitly described as water-resistant), or damage caused by misuse.
3. How to Make a Warranty Claim
Step 1 — Contact us: Email admin@maxandsohwatches.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and photographs showing the problem if possible.
Step 2 — Assessment: We will review your claim and may request the watch be returned for inspection. We will provide return instructions and, for UK customers, may provide a prepaid shipping label for warranty returns.
Step 3 — Inspection: Upon receipt, we will inspect the watch to determine whether the issue falls within the warranty coverage. This process typically takes 5–10 business days.
Step 4 — Resolution: If the issue is covered by our warranty, we will repair, replace, or refund the product at our discretion, at no additional cost to you. If the issue is not covered by the warranty, we will inform you and may offer a repair at a reasonable cost, which we will quote before proceeding.
4. Warranty Claim Shipping
- UK customers: Return shipping for warranty claims is at our expense. We will provide a prepaid shipping label or reimburse reasonable tracked postage costs.
- International customers: You may be asked to cover return shipping costs initially. If the warranty claim is approved, we will reimburse your return postage.
- All warranty returns must be sent via insured, tracked delivery. We cannot accept responsibility for items lost or damaged in transit.
5. Warranty Exclusions & Voiding
The MaxandsohWatches.com warranty will be void if:
- The watch has been opened, serviced, modified, or repaired by any party other than MaxandsohWatches.com or a service provider authorised by us
- The watch serial number has been altered, removed, or defaced
- The watch has been used in a manner inconsistent with the manufacturer’s intended use or specifications
- Evidence of deliberate damage, abuse, or negligence is found during inspection
6. Out-of-Warranty Repairs
If your watch develops an issue after the warranty period has expired, we can still assist. We work with experienced independent watchmakers and can arrange repairs at competitive rates. Contact us for a quote.
7. Your Statutory Rights
This warranty is provided in addition to — and does not replace, limit, or affect — your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Under UK law, you may have additional rights to a repair, replacement, or refund beyond the warranty period described above, particularly where goods are found to be faulty or not as described.
